Hi! I’m Gladys, Chicana mother of three, and I describe my parenting as “a la brava” just trying to do the best I can with what I have. I get through life with God’s grace, coffee, oils, and finding humor in the craziness that is mom life. We are a Japanese Mexican American, Christian, food allergy, baseball loving Southern California family. I became a stay at home mom in 2014 when due to my own health issues and my son’s food allergies, staying home was the right thing for our family. I quit my job in mental health and domestic violence services to be home with my children. Soon I had three boys, two of which had severe food allergies. I became obsessed with finding allergy safe versions of our favorite foods especially Japanese and Mexican dishes. It has been quite the adjustment and I miss working in mental health, I love my children, and because I love them, I try to practice self care on the regular. Nobody told me this gig was going to be 24/7 365. I hear how much I will miss these days, and how fast time will fly, but some days can’t fly fast enough, I can’t wait for all three boys to be literate and read their own bed time stories, and the day I don’t have to get up mid taco to wipe another butt you better believe I am going to do the running man out in the middle of our street.
Thank you for stopping by and humoring me.
